Welcome

Welcome to my blog. Here you will find the journeys of Ti Gtu and information that I have researched and found useful for maintaining and servicing yachts and motorboats.

I post full information that I find on the Fay Marine information site, accessed through www.faymarine.com/ and I can be emailed at paul@faymarine.com.

At the bottom of the blogs is a 'subscribe' link. After subscribing your web browser will automatically check for any updates that have been posted.

Veerse meere

A couple of nights were spent at one of the free ‘marinas’ before moving on to another place we had found on a previous visit.

This is a tiny inlet with free moorings all around. The entrance is incredibly tight and nearly two metres deep. With just enough room between the buoys for Ti Gitu to squeeze through we held our breath as we entered. Once inside the depths increase and like most of the other free berths around Veerse mere there are very basic toilets and rubbish bins with the grass being kept cut. Amazing facilities.

The buoys at the entrance can just be seen.

I noticed that our single lever gear and throttle shift was getting a bit graunchy so I had a quick look. It is difficult to remove completely and with just being able to remove part of the cover I found a piece of loose metal which was removed and grease forced in where possible. It is working but a new one will be sought, an address to get it posted to will need to be found. It is a Vetus part which is now 22 years old and has done a lot of work so probably time for a replacement anyway.
