Past Rotterdam

Ti Gitu moored in the first marina we came to in Dordrecht which is a yacht club. Everyone there was really welcoming despite me having a ‘senior’ moment when I gave the wrong beam measurement and the harbour master had difficulty finding us a berth. The town is worth seeing but the marina is right under the cathedral which has bells ringing all through the night. We were pleased that the second night was fairly cool and we could close the hatch to keep the sound bearable. They also have a strange system for the electric which needs re setting every 12 hours when the system cuts you off. Next time we would go to the marina at the other end of town. We left after the second night and headed North again This took us through the incredibly industrial area around Rotterdam but a lot of the canals are bordered by really nice houses, many of which have their own boat lifts at the bottom of their gardens. We stopped at one of the free overnight spots along the way before heading for Leiden which we haven’t stopped at before.
