Whitehills and Lossimouth

The stay in Whitehills was great but after a couple of nights we decided to move on to Lossimouth. We had thought about visiting some of the more commercial harbours along this coast but after talking with the Whitehills harbour master we found that these basically fishing harbours don’t really encourage yachts and yachts that visit them often end up at Whitehills for a good scrub after finding the fishing harbours very dirty.
There was no wind so it was a short motor to Lossimouth. The folk and harbour master there are really friendly and we were sad but decided that as the wind next day would be good to cross the Moray Firth to Portmahomack on the North shore that we would go the next day.
We had a romping sail across with just the fore sail and were doing up to 7 knots. Very enjoyable!!
